Purple Flower

So...this morning, my sis started her digital photography class, and leaned that she need to download GIMP. Which I have been using for a while, as I told her when I found out she had to use it for her class. I did this to show them a little of what GIMP is capable of....anybody recognize the flower? I'm not entirely sure of what it is, and a quick browse through the only flower book I have access to didn't give me an answer. I guess I'll ask my mom...

I really like this effect, so expect more of these types of pictures as I have time to finish them....

Edit: Thanks to my sis, I now know this is a balloon flower.
