“You said-”

“No, you said that we shouldn’t. So I didn’t.”

“Caranthir, you’re an idiot! Why would I tell you not to get water? We need it!”

“Will both of you just shut up? Why couldn’t Maglor have been sent with me instead of the two of you, who can’t communicate long enough to get anything done? Does Atar really hate me that much?”

“Maglor had to go help Grandfather, remember? Or did he not tell you that?”

“He told me. I just wish Grandfather had asked for help any other time of the year.”

“Well, next time submit a request to him in writing, telling him that you don’t want us to go and you need Maglor to go with you.”

“Well, at least he would have packed the lamp, so we wouldn’t be sitting here in the dark.”

“You little-”

“Celegorm! Stop beating him!”

“But-”

“Stop!”

“Fine.”

“Now, both of you go to sleep. I’ll take first watch.”

“Fine.”

“Whatever.”

“Good night.”
Written for Fan-Flashworks, Amnesty Round 16, challenge "Communication".

Since I liked the summary I wrote, here it is One dark night, Maedhros is stuck out in the woods with Celegorm and Caranthir. Of course, it's completely dark because neither of them remembered to bring the lamp.

Poor, poor, Maedhros.

As good as some of them may have been at public speaking, I've always been under the impression that the Feanorians were not great at communication. XD
